Once you've clicked on "Start Game" you'll be faced with an options screen. If you want to start quickly you'll just want to select the players, select a preset, then click on "GO!".
If you want a little more control on the game, you'll need to try out the advanced options.
Select the players
The top right of the options screen contains the player selection options. There are four checkboxes - indicating which players will take part in the game. Next to each checkbox is a name - these can be edited to give a new name of up to 6 characters in length.
Currently there must be at least two players selected to start a game.
Preset games
Once you've selected the players you can set up a game quickly by clicking on one of the presets. If it is your first time playing Fuzzies, the short game is recommended. Once youve clicked a preset, you'll need to start the game by clicking "GO!".
Advanced Options
On the left hand side of the options screen are the advanced options. The advanced options consist of the Grid Options and the Starting Options.
Grid Options
These options specify what the starting grid looks like, and how many nuggets/sherbert are to be found. The options are as follows:
- Nuggets: How many nuggets should be placed on the grid.
- Sherbert: How many piles of sherbert to place on the grid.
- Blockiness: The average "blockiness" of the grid - a number between 0 and 100 representing the percentage of grid covered by blocks.
- Holiness: the average "holiness" of the grid - a number between 0 and 100 representing the percentage of the grid covered in holes.
- x-size: the number of columns on the grid.
- y-size: the number of rows on the grid.
When you have selected the options for the grid, click on "New Grid" to generate the grid. If this button is not pressed, the options you have selected for the grid will not be used in the game.
Starting Options
These options specify what items the players will start with in their base at the beginning of the game. The number of starting nuggets has nothing to do with the number of nuggets specified in the grid options - players can start with extra nuggets in their base to speed up initial production.
